Adam's jealous streak when it came to Richard was extremely amusing. As a reader I could see just as well as Adam had that Richard and Paz had a special relationship. Although it was not sexual, Richard cared for Paz just as much as his family. I think because Adam was this man that everyone feared it was fun to see him thrown off balance by his jealousy. It made you see his human side and see his flaws as well as his strengths. The antagonistic conflict was a carryover from the previous story. I do think it worked because I had watched it unfold in the previous story, so I strongly recommend you read that prior to reading this story. You will not regret reading the previous story or this one. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great shifter story.
